Asynchronous telemedicine, text-based, not real-time video, is explicitly recognized by state nursing boards where Chris practices, provided the clinician gathers enough clinical information to establish an appropriate plan. That's the part that matters: it's not a static questionnaire, it's a real back-and-forth conversation.

Every visit goes through a licensed NP personally, no AI, no chatbot, no algorithmic triage. The text-based modality exists so you don't have to take time off work to sit in a waiting room for a UTI; it does not exist to remove the clinician from the loop.

State-board rules vary. A condition or prescription that's fine in one state may not be fine in another. If something on your visit requires an in-person exam, or falls outside what async care can responsibly handle. Chris will tell you and refund the visit.

All clinical content is written and medically reviewed by Chris Woods, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, AGACNP-BC. No AI generates, drafts, or reviews medical articles, medication guides, or care recommendations on this site or in patient communications. Every word reflects direct clinical experience treating these conditions in urgent care, primary care, and telemedicine settings.

For care: You text a licensed nurse practitioner directly. Chris personally reviews every message, takes the history needed for a responsible decision, and either treats within the evidence-based scope for async text care or refers you to in-person evaluation. Red-flag symptoms (chest pain, severe shortness of breath, confusion, high fever in infants, signs of severe infection, etc.) trigger immediate direction to ER or 911 with no charge for the visit.

We are transparent about limitations. Text-based care is excellent for many straightforward acute issues but is not a substitute for physical exam, imaging, or labs when those are clinically indicated. State law and patient safety determine what can be handled here. When referral is the right call, we say so clearly.
