Red Rock Park, east of Gallup

The red rocks still stand east of town. The waiting room is not the day.

Gallup is the county seat and the county’s only city, on I-40 and old Route 66. It has two 24-hour emergency rooms, at Rehoboth McKinley Christian Hospital and the Gallup Indian Medical Center. From Thoreau, the drive west on I-40 to the emergency room in Gallup is about 33 miles. Someone with you is warm, dizzy, or hoarse, and a waiting room would spend the hour you meant for the road or for town. Text from where you are standing and keep the day: it is a $59 visit, and meds go with you only if a prescription fits.

How a sick hour here shows up

Same $59 text. Still in McKinley County.

Out on I-40

Someone went quiet on the drive across the county. Text the timeline before you give the hour to a waiting room.

In Gallup

A throat or a stomach that showed up in town. You are still there. A nurse practitioner can read the story by text if it is the simple pattern.

Out in Thoreau

Warm, clingy, not themselves, a long drive from town. Stay where you are and text. If this looks like more than a text visit, Chris will say so before you pay.

The county courthouse

The courthouse still stands in Gallup. You do not have to leave the county.

The McKinley County Courthouse in Gallup was built in 1938 and 1939 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. When someone gets sick in town, out in Thoreau, or on the interstate, text from where you are and keep the hour: it is a $59 visit, and meds go with you only if a prescription fits.

If you are in New Mexico right now

Keep the county. Skip the waiting room.

Someone comes through Gallup, or out along I-40 toward Thoreau, and then a person with them turns warm or hoarse. A walk-in wait would spend the rest of the hour.

This is a $59 asynchronous text visit with a nurse practitioner, from town, the car, or wherever you are standing in McKinley County. No video. You must be physically in New Mexico. If a prescription fits, you pick it up at a New Mexico pharmacy.

The honest line

When a text visit is the wrong fit

A child who looks seriously ill. A stiff neck with fever. Trouble keeping fluids down. Anything that needs a room, imaging, or eyes on a wound. This page is for the simple hour in McKinley County, in Gallup or out in Thoreau, not the scare that belongs in an ER. He will send you in, and you are not charged for a visit he cannot do.

Not for emergencies

Chest pain, trouble breathing, or a severe allergic reaction: call 911 or go to the ER. Text-based telehealth is not emergency care.
